Welcome to the Sylvia Wright Trust
The Trust is a registered charity which supports the work of Sylvia Wright in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu. Sylvia, a nurse from Leeds in the UK, sold her home and possessions in 1982. She has worked for four decades with children who have disabilities and people needing hospital treatment in a very poor area of India.
She set up and managed a residential school for 200 children who have hearing impairments, a day centres for 80 children with disabilities, a nursing college for 120 students as well as running many community health projects. She also established a hospital which was transferred to a group of Indian doctors in 2017.

In January 2022 John Rajkumar will become the Chief Executive of our nursing college, school for children with hearing loss and centre for disabled children.
